Thank God It's Friday

PHEW. It's been such a hectic week, I'm so glad it's finally the weekend!

I really had a hard time deciding about Calculus. Mind you, I have lost quite a lot of sleep over it. I've only take Calculus in hopes that it would get me into Melbourne U. And I foolishly thought that I would be able to cope with Year 12 Calculus, despite the fact that I have no pure math background and have over the years developed a phobia for maths.

After 2 classes of Calculus with Ms. Najjar, I finally decided that i would drop Calculus. Namely because:

  1. I was lost even when they were doing only "Review for Essential Skills" Imagine how much more lost I would be when we start getting into the real syllabus.

  2. The only reason why I took Calculus was to do Commerce in Melbourne U. I need Calculus.

  3. If I were to enter into Melbourne U., I would have to get in through a scholarship since I would need to spend 3 years in aussie in comparison with twinning at Monash. With Calculus, I doubt I'll be able to get a scholarship, hence making the whole reason of taking Calculus redundant.

  4. I HATE maths.

  5. I could have tried to survive in Calculus, but if I wait longer, and finally drop it only after a few weeks, it would be too late to start a new subject, which means, I would be short of one subject of graduating. I can't afford to stay another semester as I'm going off on my exchange trip.
Speakin of the exchange trip, I attended my second orientation the other day on the 8th. There was also a welcoming dinner for the Korean Inbound Short Term Exchange students and their Host families. It was a much better orientation as compared to the last one in my opinion.

We, the Outbound Long-term Exchange Students plus Rui-Yang, Inbound Long-term Exchange Student from Switzerland have become closer after the first orientation, though almost everyone's leaving like next week! Nora's leaving on the 16th for Germany, Seeta and Daniel are leaving on the 17th for Switzerland.

All the best and a safe trip to you guys! Keep in touch!

And then it was bad news. I was suppose to leave for Tokyo on the 27th July 08. But some bum in Japan decided that he/she does not fancy coming to Malaysia anymore, so now, I can't go to Tokyo. T.T

So yes, that's how my crappy first week went.

by the way,
I'm thinking for running for Student Council
Should I wake up sooner
Or should I continue pursuing?
